Asphalt Stone
Asphalt Stone can be washed or dry screened. It is also known as asphalt stone, asphalt aggregate, asphalt chips (1/4″, 3/8″, 5/8″, 3/4″), asphalt rock, and type A asphalt material. Pattison produces this incredibly hard stone from superior quality Ordovician Dolomitic Limestone ledges with our state-of-the-art, jaw/cone crushing plant. Our plant features compression crushing technology that reduces fines generation and increases fractured faces.
Asphalt Stone Certifications
Pattison’s Asphalt Stone is certified for use in Department of Transportation interstate and highways, asphaltic concrete, blacktop, hot mix asphalt roads, chip overlays, ultra thin overlays, and chip seal roads.
Exceptional Quality Source Material
This material is produced to specific physical property specifications. Pattison’s quarries feature a variety of Ordovician Dolomitic Limestone ledges that yield materials that meet our customer’s individual requirements. Asphalt Stone is sourced from durable ledges that have minimal deleterious material inclusion. This material outperforms materials from non-Ordovician quarries on freeze thaw, abrasion, specific gravity and absorption tests. It’s low absorption properties make it the ideal asphalt aggregate as it reduces the mount of petroleum oil required. See what wikipedia has to say.
Asphalt Stone Production
Pattison asphalt stone is of exceptional quality, and is approved by the Departments of Transportation in Iowa, Missouri, and Minnesota. It is the optimal choice aggregate for asphalt material projects.
With our direct to rail transfer system, Pattison products move quickly from production to rail loading. This reduces reduces product degradation and handling costs.
