Parts Attendant

Wage ranges from $38,600 -55,600- Based on Experience (PSC offers a $2.00/HR Night Shift Differential)

The Parts Attendant is accountable for the day-to-day activities relating to the organization of the warehouse, inventory levels, receiving of all materials and other tasks as requested by the Purchasing Manager. Parts Attendant needs strong organizations skills, high attention to detail and good communication.

Primary Responsibilities
  • icon Receive materials and parts into the facility. Always follow the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for receiving all items.
  • icon Maintain inventory records (within the GP Inventory software).
  • icon Ability to utilize the PO system in looking up orders, compare quantities received against quantities ordered, and close out PO’s when the material is received complete..
  • icon Monitor and control the parts and tools stored in the shop warehouse. If tools are requested to be checked out, record the time and who checked them out, and follow-up with them or their supervisor if it is not returned by the end of their shift.
  • icon Keep the parts area warehouse organized, clean and in order.
  • icon Once deliveries are checked in, be sure stock items are placed on the correct shelf, pending items on the “parts pending” shelf, and department managers are notified of job specific items. The inventory levels will be adjusted as items are “received” in the system.
  • icon Help develop and maintain critical parts lists for each asset and/or project. Assist in tracking “pattern purchases” so we can identify areas for improvement in the quality of parts that we order and/or the inventory we keep on hand.
  • icon Communicate with the Purchasing Agents immediately when the quantity received does not match the ordered quantity on the Purchase Order.
  • icon Any parts that are requested to be signed out of the shop warehouse will be documented based on part number, quantity and asset/project to be used.
Working Conditions & Expectations
  • icon Works twelve hour shifts.
  • icon Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • icon Must be able to communicate and coordinate with co-workers and supervisors.
  • icon Must have high safety standards for self and others
  • icon Must be willing to work any assigned shift, overtime, weekends and holidays
  • icon Must have the ability to stand for 6-12 hours on uneven sandy/rocky surfaces
  • icon Must have the ability to be seated for up to 6 hours to operate equipment or vehicles
  • icon Must have the ability to lift 60 to 80 pounds without mechanical assistance.
  • icon Must have the ability to bend or stoop
  • icon Must have the ability to climb on and off equipment and ladders
  • icon Must be able to work at heights
  • icon  Must have the ability to work in damp, dimly lit and confined work areas
Shift Details

Rotation schedules are 84 hours bi-weekly (20 of the 84 hours are paid out an OVERTIME rate of 1 ½) Rotation Schedule:

  • icon Week 1- Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (60 hrs/ 20 paid overtime)
  • icon Week 2- Wednesday, Thursday (24 hrs)
  • icon 1 – 2 years’ experience in warehouse/inventory activities a plus..
  • icon Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • icon Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • icon Proficient spoken and written English
Education & Experience
High school diploma or a GED equivalent qualification.
